This
Corvette was Special Ordered by Ellis Brooks Chevrolet, 1595 Van Ness
Avenue, San Francisco, CA. You will notice all of the deleted
items. This car was purposely built to drag race. The engine,
transmission, and rear end combination, was a favorite for racing in
the stock sports category.
The vehicle was found in a warehouse, in Lincoln, California. The
odometer had 1,971 miles on the speedometer. We believe all the
miles on this car when purchased in 1999, were put on 1/4 mile at a
time. All evidence uncovered in one of the many part boxes,
included the original 1956 license plates, and the original 1957 red
sticker, still wrapped in State of California brown paper bearing the
label, Edmond G. (Pat) Brown; the Governor of California at that
time. This indicates the plates were never put on the car, and
was more likely towed for racing purposes. California DMV has no
record of the plate ever being registered. The plates were used
to register the car in California in 2002. The plates have been
retained even though the car has a clear title in Nevada. The
odometer currently reads, 4,700 miles.
Frame off restoration began in 2000, with basic completion in
2002. Refinements for NCRS judging was completed in 2006.
All parts were NOS or certified GM restoration parts, including all
fasteners. Exterior is red/beige and the interior is also
red/beige. All interior parts are new. This car is show
quality.
