Offered for the first time in nearly 20 years, this investment grade 1965 Corvette is being offered from a private collection.  In 1965 Chevrolet's "Mystery Motor" was first put into production cars.  With 396 cu. in. and 425hp this car was conceived to go fight the Cobra's.  These big blocks were not put into production until after Feb. 1965 which makes their production numbers very small.  Couple that awesome power with cheap high octane fuel and you have a recipe for abuse.  That is why it is very hard to find one of these cars in this shape with it's original engine.  If you have been looking for a REAL 65 396 Vette, look no further. 
Car #17140 has an older frame off restoration that has recently been freshened.  After the frameoff the car was campaigned and took home the coveted NCRS Chapter, Regional and National Top Flight awards.  The car also passed the very strict NCRS Performance Verification process, or PV.   Paperwork also includes 3 ring binders with pictures and registrations back to 1971, and the originating dealer was located where the car was sold in 1965.  It comes with it's original numbers matching engine, close ratio 4 speed Muncie and 4:11 posi rearend.  The car is also equipped with the following:
